Update on ASLEF Industrial Action on Southern Services – Suspended

Southern Services - ASLEF industrial Action Suspended

Next week's industrial action by members of ASLEF on Southern Rail planned for Tuesday 24 January, Wednesday 25 January and Friday 27 January has been suspended ahead of fresh talks.

In response to the announcement by ASLEF today that it is offering to suspend industrial action in return for new talks, Charles Horton, chief executive of Govia Thameslink Railway, said:

“We've always made clear our willingness to engage in meaningful talks with ASLEF to find a route forward to end their dispute.”

“So, together with our passengers and businesses, we warmly welcome their decision to suspend next week's planned industrial action. This is an important and significant development for the travelling public and the regional economy and our focus and efforts now will be on productive talks with the union and trying to find a solution and a way forward."

 

RMT industrial Action  - Monday 23 January

Industrial action by the RMT Union planned for Monday 23 January is still to go ahead.
