Major disruption at Manchester Victoria until the end of the dayMajor disruption at Manchester Victoria until the end of today 23 May 2017 Emergency services are dealing with last night’s tragic events that occurred at Manchester Arena. As Manchester Victoria is located near the arena, the station will remain closed and no trains will operate. Manchester Victoria will remain closed until at least the end of today. Trains will not run to / from and through Manchester Victoria. You are advised to avoid the Manchester Victoria / Manchester Arena area. Please follow instructions from staff and emergency services.
Road transport is operating between Rochdale and Manchester Piccadilly. These will depart Rochdale at xx:30 and xx:00 and Manchester Piccadilly at xx:30 and xx:00. Road transport is also operating between Stalybridge and Manchester Piccadilly. These will depart Stalybridge at xx:30 and xx:00 and Manchester Piccadilly at xx:30 and xx:00. You may use your ticket on Metrolink, TransPennine Express, CrossCountry, East Midlands Trains, and Virgin Trains via any reasonable route. Metrolink are currently unable to call at Manchester Victoria. You may also Stagecoach buses between Stalybridge and Manchester on routes 231, 216, 236 and 237. Normal services will run into and out of Manchester Piccadilly to and from all south Manchester destinations.
Advice for TransPennine Express customers: You may use your ticket on CrossCountry, Virgin Trains East Coast, East Midlands Trains and Northern via any reasonable route. TransPennine Express services between Scarborough and Liverpool Lime Street will operate as normal. TPE Advance ticket holders may travel on any TransPennine Express service today and tomorrow.
