Ticket Restrictions Lifted Across Virgin Trains East Coast until 2nd March

Ticket Restrictions Lifted Across Virgin Trains East Coast until 2nd March

Due to severe weather fewer trains are able to run on all lines.

Impact
Train services running across the whole Virgin Trains East Coast network may be cancelled, delayed by up to 80 minutes or revised. Disruption is expected until the end of the day, Wednesday 28th February.

Customer Advice
Due to the heavy snow and extreme weather conditions in some parts of the country, we have lifted travel restrictions across all of our services on Wednesday 28th February, Thursday 1st March and Friday 2nd March. This means that if you are booked to travel on a Virgin Trains East Coast service today, you may travel on an earlier or later service than booked, or you may defer your travel until Thursday or Friday if this is preferable.

If you do choose to defer your travel until Thursday or Friday, please travel on a train which is close to the time of your original booked service. As a result, we are sorry if our services are busier than usual.
At present, we are still planning to run a full timetable over the next few days.

However, there may be some short notice cancellations or delays to services, please check our website for the most up to date information https://www.virgintrainseastcoast.com/travel-information/travel-alerts/

We are working with Network Rail and will continue to monitor weather conditions over the coming hours. Well keep you updated if there are any changes to our planned timetable.

Please take extra care over the next few days in the snow and icy conditions.
