ATOC Name Change - Rail Delivery Group

From Monday 24th October 2016 we become Rail Delivery Group

Information for Customers and Suppliers to ATOC, RSP, TISL, Rail Delivery Group, RSTL, NRES

What’s happening?
We are adopting Rail Delivery Group (RDG) as a single name for the organisation, and from Monday 24th October 2016, will be used to describe ourselves to all audiences using a refreshed Rail Delivery Group logo. ATOC Ltd will continue as a legal name for the time being, but we will no longer be using it to describe our organisation. Similarly, the legal names of the other entities within the organisation will continue for now but have no visible brand.

Why are we moving to a single name?
Adopting a single name is an important element in realising our common purpose of enabling member companies to succeed in delivering a successful railway; and providing a voice for them collectively, and for train and freight operating companies respectively.

We will also be able to work better as one team, clear we are all working towards our common purpose and together living our shared values.

We are responding to what members and stakeholders have told us, that there is an urgent need to clarify the relationship between RDG and ATOC which is causing much confusion, reducing our effectiveness and limiting the impact of the organisation by making us less than the sum of our parts.

What will change and what won’t?
The roles and responsibilities of all staff will not change, however all staff email addresses will change to the format of firstname.lastname@raildeliverygroup.com or groupname@raildeliverygroup.com for any shared email addresses. Current email addresses will continue to receive and automatically forward mail for a period, whilst senders update their email contact lists.

The Rail Delivery Group website will also form part of the web addresses for key internal systems e.g. the intranet, Sites, IT/Facilities helpdesk system.

All company stationery will be changed to feature the refreshed Rail Delivery Group logo, including letterheads, business cards and compliment slips. All electronic forms of branded communications, such as newsletters, will also be changed to Rail Delivery Group.

The legal names of ATOC and its companies will not change for the time being. Therefore, official Rail Delivery Group headed letters and emails will include a footnote which will comprise the legal name and address of the relevant company (i.e. RSP, ATOC, TISL etc.), but with the Rail Delivery Group website address.

When will this take effect?
The date we are aiming for to officially move to the single name is Monday 24 October.

What will happen to ATOC websites?
ATOC member/stakeholder/business websites will be migrated to the Rail Delivery Group website and the individual sites closed down. We will retain ownership of the old urls, to prevent them being re-used by other bodies or individuals, and redirections will be set up to point people to the new web locations of our organisation’s information and business services. The sites currently in scope are:
• ATOC corporate site
• Cycle-Rail Awards
• Eurospec standards
• National Rail branding guidelines
• Rail Staff Travel site
• Rail warrants service
• RSP accreditation portal
• Station travel plans
• Third party retailing

By 24th October the refreshed RDG website will be live and the atoc.org website will be closed down, though it will take until early next year to migrate all the in-scope websites. From early October, we will be informing stakeholders that may link to one or more of these sites, of the new web address and logo so they can update their own records.

What’s happening to the National Rail brand and websites?
They will stay much the same. ‘Business to customer’ websites will be less affected by the move to Rail Delivery Group. However, they will include a supportive statement in any ‘About Us’ section, and ‘Powered by Rail Delivery Group’ or similar added to the header or footer of every page, with our logo and a link back to the corporate site. These sites
include:

  • National Rail Enquiries
  • 16-25 Railcard / Disabled Persons Railcard / Family & Friends Railcard / HM Forces Railcard / Network Railcard / Senior Railcard / Two Together Railcard
  • BritRail Pass / InterRail Pass
  • Days Out Guide

I supply ATOC with goods/services. Will I need to change who I invoice?
No. The legal entities that currently exist with ATOC and RDG are remaining the same for the time being, so there is no need to change who you invoice. Invoices though should continue to be made out to the
entity as described on the Purchase Order, the entities being;

  • ATOC Ltd
  • Rail Settlement Plan Ltd
  • Rail Staff Travel Ltd
  • Train Information Services Ltd
  • Rail Delivery Group Ltd

Please note invoices made out to the wrong entity may result in late payment to you.

ATOC supplies me with a service. What does this change mean for me?
Nothing will change apart from the visible branding on communication you receive, which will change from being ATOC to Rail Delivery Group. Payment terms and schedules will remain the same, as will the legal entity you are supplied by. If you raise purchase orders for these services, again, you should continue to make those out in favour of the same entity that you do now. The separate entities are listed above.

Will the frequency in which I am paid or in which I make payments change?
No, payment schedules will remain as they are now. Our bank account and bank account details will also remain unchanged.

Do the contracts need to change?
No, because the legal entities are not changing for the time being, there is no need to amend or re-issue contracts.

Will new contracts be with ATOC or Rail Delivery Group?
As no changes are being made to the legal/governance structure of ATOC for the time being, all existing contracts and new contracts will be as per existing arrangements.

Will I need to change how I get in contact with the organisation?
Our address and phone numbers are staying the same, but all correspondence should be sent to Rail Delivery Group, not ATOC.
