Strike action on London Underground and Tramlink services
Affected dates are as follows: London Underground London Tramlink While London Underground will attempt to run such services as they can during the strike period, disruption is expected to be widespread. Tramlink anticipate that they will may able to run trams between Wimbledon and East Croydon. However the service actually run is likely to vary from day to day. Customers should therefore be advised to check the Transport for London website (www.tfl.gov.uk) before they travel. Arrangements for acceptance of tickets are as follows. 1. Single/return printed tickets for the Underground and tram travel issued on the affected days are used at the customer’s risk and will NOT be reimbursed. Underground and Tramlink Charter refunds are suspended during strike action. 2. Single/return printed tickets for Underground and Tramlink travel will NOT be valid on National Rail services, EXCEPT when normally valid for travel between stations on designated “inter-available routes”. Apart from these routes, customers wishing to use National Rail services must buy a valid National Rail ticket. The same rule applies to London Freedom Passes, Staff Passes and other tickets not normally accepted on NR services, and normal rules and restrictions will continue to apply. 3. Travelcard season tickets may be used on any available service within their zonal validity, as normal. 4. Anytime Day or Off-peak Day Travelcards bought in advance may be refunded if surrendered before the day of validity - otherwise no refund to be given. Customers asking to purchase these types of tickets on strike days should be warned of the risk of disruption to Underground or Tramlink services so that they can make an informed decision whether or not they wish to go ahead with their purchase. 5. Oyster Pay as you go (“PAYG”) users will be charged the appropriate fare for the service(s) used to make their journey. 6. Buses and trams will accept all Underground singles and returns and cross-London tickets presented on the printed day of validity during the time the strike action is taking place and on reasonable routes only. 7. Buses will accept all Tram singles and returns presented on the printed day of validity during the time the strike action is taking place, and on reasonable routes only. 8. Buses and trams will, on strike days, accept rail tickets with Cross-London availability on reasonable routes only, provided tickets are presented within their period of validity. 9. The period of validity for National Rail tickets with Cross-London availability will not be extended on Underground or DLR. National Rail tickets with Cross-London availability will NOT be valid for the Cross London transfer on London Underground or DLR on a date outside their period of validity, even where the customer is claiming to travel on that date because the service was on strike previously.
